Beijing Fayuan Mosque is also named Dewai Mosque or Dewai Guanxiang Mosque. Fayuan Mosque is located on the northeast corner of Deshengmen Gate (North Second Ring Road).Fayuan Mosque was origailly constructed in late Ming and early Qing dynasties.The latest renovation of Fayuan Mosque took place in 2003. Eight million Chinese Yuan was invested by local Xicheng District government of Beijing. Fayuan Mosque was opened to the public in Sep, 2007 after the renovation was complested. The new Fayuan Mosque coveres an area of 4,000 square meters, 4 times bigger than the original mosque.
Beijing Fayuan Mosque is a mixture of Chinese architecture and Arabic Islamic architectural style. The femail prayer room is located to the southeast corner of the main 200 square meter prayer hall.
