Sanya South Mosque is also located at Huixin Village and built at the beginning of Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) with traditional Chinese palace architectural style. The beams of the prayer hall are decorated with wood carvings of Koran as well as traditional Chinese pictures of mountain, river and flowers. Sanya South Mosque was destroyed during the Culture Revolution (1966-1976). After six times of renovation in 1980’s, Sanya South Mosque is the largest mosque in Sanya now.
