Located on Xiaotaoyuan Street, Shanghai Mosque for Women was rebuilt in 1994 and renovated in 2010 for the World Expo Shanghai.
The original Shanghai Female Mosque was constructed in 1933. It was closed for prayer during the Japanese occupation in Shanghai from 1937 to 1945. The current Shanghai Female Mosque is an Islamic style three story building covering a floor space of 600 square meters with prayer room, Quran study room, ablution room, meeting room and reception room.
