Assalamualaikum Johan

Please find feedback as follows:

IslamiChina Travel website www.islamiChina.com; - Good

Communication with ICT representative; Very good. You were helpful and professional and convinced us why we should book with IslamiChina instead of any other tour operator.

Guides:
Our guide in Beijing was ok. She struggled with English a bit and we could not understand what she was saying some of the time.

Our guide in Xian was very good. She was very knowledgeable about her country and was keen to share her knowledge with us.

Our guide in Shanghai was ok. She asked us a lot of personal questions and I did not like the fact that she asked for her tip and the driver’s tip the day before we left. However the following day, when our flight got delayed and we had to organise new flights, she was very helpful in communicating with airport staff.

Hotels;
Beijing - Ningxia Hotel had no wi-fi which was a problem for us. The bed and pillows were too hard and the shower drain was blocked. I asked my guide every day to explain to the staff who didn’t understand English that they should fix the drain, which she did. Every day they told us that it had been done but it wasn’t. The good part about the hotel was that the food was halaal.

Xian. Grand Metropark Hotel was very good. The only downside was that the we could only eat fruit at breakfast as we did not know if the vegetarian items and pastries were made with meat fat/lard.

Shanghai. Ramada Hotel – our room was a bit small but other than that the hotel was good. The only downside was that the we could only eat fruit at breakfast as we did not know if the vegetarian items and pastries were made with meat fat/lard.

Meals; The good part was that we were taken to Muslim restaurants. But in Beijing, our guide would order meals for us without consulting us. We therefore had to eat food we didn’t enjoy such as omelettes at every meal. Our guides in Xian and Shanghai were more accommodating and consulted us before ordering therefore we enjoyed the food much more.  In hindsight though, we would not take a food package and rather request that we be taken to Muslim restaurants at meal times where we could order and pay for our own food.

Sightseeing: The sightseeing was excellent and we especially enjoyed going to the masjids/mosques.

Shopping: We do not enjoy shopping stops in general.

Driver service: The drivers in Xian and Shanghai were very attentive. They would open the doors for me at every stop and accommodate our requests. The driver in Beijing was satisfactory. He did not open doors for us and sometimes parked a bit far from our stops so that we had to walk quite a bit.

Recommendations: it would be good if we could have gone to mosques for the 2 afternoon prayers and the 1st evening prayer.

Overall, we enjoyed our trip to China and would recommend IslamiChina tours with a few minor adjustments.

Thank you!

Sara

Salaam Johan,

This email is inform you that my family had good stay in Beijing from 5-9Apr. Ms. Carol, the guide and Ahyong, the driver, took care of us very well and every one had good time. Even the hotel you recommended was a nice place to stay and in good location. Unfortunately I was not able to meet with you in person. Hopefully we can meet at some other time. The sight seeing and shopping trip were good and so was the lunches and dinners.Thank you to you and your wonderful team.

With warm regards & Wassalaam,

Safian Md. Salleh

Hi Johan

I Would like to say thanks for Your services and take this opportunity to provide some feedback regarding the tours.

Day 1- tour was amazing!!! From the guide to the food everything was superb. Chung was very knowledgeable and gave us great commentary all throughout the tour. It was fascinating learning about Chinese history. The lunch provided was plentiful, delicious and fresh and we wish we could go back there!

Day 2 tour-  everything was okay we had a different Guide this time and she was lovely but seemed a little flusterd  We did not recieve the same level of commentry from her but she was always willing to answer any questions we had. The one thing that was very dissapointing was the lunch we had. It was simply awful- I was surprised it was even a lunch as we were asked to present some yellow coupon that were given to us at the entrace of a factory shop where the restaurant is located . We got served some small plates of cold food that looked like yum cha style food. Compared to the previous day it was not the same level I expected. I though perhaps there had been a mistake as some other Muslim group diners had different dishes that looked more appealing however since no one spoke English it was hard to tell.

I hope you find the feedback helpful and will pass on this feedback to the relevant parties involved.

Kind Regards

Sadia Ubed

Itinerary: Tailor-made Quanzhou Xiamen Muslim Tour 7 Days

Time of Traveling: June 20 to 23, 2012

Dear Hannah,

Thank you for your email- the trip went very well. The guide added a few more things which were interesting to visit:
- In Quanzhou, right next to the Maritime Museum, there is an Islamic Institute with the history of Islam in Fujian, definitely worth a visit,

- Between Chongwu and Quanzhou, we visited old houses in a village called 牡村if I recall well- very interesting (houses made of oyster shells)

- In Quanzhou, we visited a few more temples (Taoist temples)- interesting too

- The Tombs were very impressive and moving to visit; the Cai village is amazing and so are the tulou.

- The guide changed the hotel for Xiamen, and it proved better (better location and Muslim restaurant nearby)

What I think could be improved:
- Chongwu is not very interesting- nothing much to visit- could be skipped.

- Spend more time on Mt Qingyuan: there are many things to visit

- We left late morning on Day 4 to avoid the crowd in the Tulous- we could have done some other visits in the morning to utilize time

I hope this feedback helps you,

Kind Regards,

Sophie
